Overview

We are seeking an individual who has their own vehicle who can take on some journeys for us. Twice a week we need a driver to journey up to Kent to collect produce from 4/5 farms in Kent. This is usually a 4-5 hour round trip journey starting at our shop in Forest Hill.

We also do local deliveries which can be delivered by the appointed driver and hours and distances vary dependant on the person who takes on this job.

Duties

Operate and drive various types of vehicles, including vans and flatbeds, to deliver goods to designated locations. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of cargo, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols. Conduct regular inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition, demonstrating mechanical knowledge as needed. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and warehouse personnel to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage logs and delivery confirmations. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving, ensuring timely deliveries without compromising safety.

Experience

Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and best practices is essential. Experience in warehouse operations is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong mechanical knowledge will be beneficial for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues on the road. Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interact with various stakeholders during the delivery process.

What car do you plan to use for these journeys? Car should be Medium size or bigger. A small car will not fit the amount needed Driver has to be available on Monday (7am - 2pm) and Thursday (7am - 2pm). Availability on other days is beneficial if you want more hours.
