We are seeking a professional Owner Operator Driver of a 3.5T or 7.5T driver to join our logistics team. The rate is based upon a full day. for 3.5T in your own vehicle with your own insurance. Talk to us if you have 7.5T or 18T vehicle. All vehicles must have tail-lift and we can provide a pump truck and PDA. This role involves independently managing transportation tasks, ensuring timely delivery of goods across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to operate specialised vehicles such as curtain sided vehicles. This position offers the opportunity to work autonomously while contributing to efficient supply chain operations.
Duties
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including pump trucks and operating a tail-lift, in accordance with road safety laws and company policies
Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, ensuring timely arrivals at designated destinations
Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly
Load and unload cargo, maintaining proper securing techniques for safety during transit
Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any unforeseen delays
Maintain accurate documentation related to deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and compliance requirements
Uphold high standards of safety, professionalism, and customer service throughout all interactions
Experience
Proven experience in commercial driving, with a valid driver licence or equivalent
Previous experience as a delivery driver or in warehouse operations is advantageous
Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems to assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance
Familiarity with flatbed transportation and securing loads effectively
Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with clients and team members
Prior experience working in logistics or distribution environments is desirable
