About the Bakery

Our client, BEK Sourdough Bakery, is known for its exceptional sourdough breads and pastries, using locally sourced ingredients with a focus on allergen safety and sustainability.

Key Details

Location: Pick up from 124 St Denys Road, Southampton, SO17 2FQ. Deliveries across the local area ("On the road").
Pay Structure (Hourly Rate):
Using Company Van: 13.90
Using Your Own Van: Competitive rate based on experience and vehicle suitability.
Hours: Part-Time (Long-Term)
Schedule: 5-6 days per week (likely Tuesday to Saturday or similar).
Shift: Early Morning Shift starting at 5:30 AM and finishing between 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM.
Total Weekly Hours: Approximately 10 - 18 hours per week.


We are seeking a reliable and efficient Self-Employed Delivery Driver to handle the crucial early morning distribution of our freshly baked goods. This role involves distributing products to local businesses and key customers, ensuring they receive their orders safely and on time. This position offers a highly structured, fixed-schedule, part-time opportunity ideal for an experienced individual comfortable with self-employment.

Responsibilities

Execute an efficient delivery route, typically involving up to 6 drops daily, to local commercial customers and wholesale clients.
Safely load and unload baked goods, including the transport and careful handling of bread crates.
Start the shift promptly at 5:30 AM to meet time-sensitive morning delivery windows.
Maintain open and clear communication with the bakery team regarding any route delays or delivery specifics.
Represent the bakery professionally during all customer interactions.
Ensure full compliance with road safety and local traffic laws.
Requirements

Vehicle Options:
Must own a suitable van or have a clean driving record to use a Company Van (available upon request).
Valid UK Driver's Licence and a clean driving record.
Proven ability to manage time effectively and navigate local routes efficiently.
Physical capability to handle and move heavy items, such as full bread crates.
Previous Driving Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a professional delivery role is highly desirable.
Capability and willingness to operate independently under a self-employed status.
