As a self-employed trade plate driver, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering vehicles across the UK using trade plates. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys driving, works well independently, and is comfortable navigating unfamiliar routes.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and deliver vehicles (cars, vans, or light commercial) to and from dealerships, auction sites, customers, or fleet companies.
Use trade plates legally and in compliance with DVLA regulations.
Conduct pre-delivery and post-delivery vehicle checks and report any issues or damages.
Communicate with dispatchers, clients, and other stakeholders to coordinate pick-ups and drop-offs.
Ensure vehicles are delivered safely, on time, and in a professional manner.
Maintain accurate logs of mileage, fuel usage, and any expenses incurred.
Occasionally use public transport to travel between jobs (expenses may be claimable depending on contract).
Provide excellent customer service and represent the company/yourself professionally at all times.
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence with no major endorsements ( held for 2+ years).
Valid trade plates (if self-supplied).
Between the ages of 25-65 (for insurance purposes).
Good knowledge of UK roadways and transport routes.
Reliable smartphone with GPS and communication apps.
Punctual, reliable, and able to work independently.
Professional appearance and courteous attitude.
Desirable:
Prior experience in vehicle delivery or driving roles.
Understanding of vehicle condition reporting.
Knowledge of public transport for returning between jobs.
