Supply Relationship Manager

GSK is looking for a Supply Relationship Manager with the purpose of this role is to ensure the efficient, timely and reliable supply of materials/ products from a designated number of external 3rd party contract manufacturing organisations (CMOs) to commercial markets and GMS sites, throughout the duration of the contract.

In this role you will

You will also be responsible for:

  • Responsible for the CMO performance and delivery through external supply partnerships by managing CMO relationships
  • Accountable for products supplied by aligned CMOs to ensure Quality, Service, Safety, and Productivity while leveraging appropriate Procurement strategies.
  • Direct the matrix PQTS+ (procurement, quality, technical and supply teams) responsible for day to day management and performance of CMOs.
  • Have accountability for product supplied by CMOs, working to minimize and eliminate any risks to supply of product to patients while delivering continuous improvement at the CMOs.
  • Coordinate activities in a matrix environment to ensure products manufactured are right first time, meet GSK standards, are delivered to patients on time and are competitively priced to achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Build relationships with CMOs to set common objectives and to ensure CMO delivers to GSK standards, CMO maintains compliance with GMP requirements, and risks introduced to GSK network from use of CMOs is properly managed and mitigated.
  • Support delivery of P&L, through effective management of Operating Expenses, savings contributions, project spend, product spend, travel and capital expenditures.
  • Continuously drive and deliver improvement across service, quality, safety and cost which may include remediation, as needed with CMOs to ensure compliance and viability of products for the long term.

Qualifications & Skills:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
  • BS Degree (or international equivalent) in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Logistics, Finance or Quality.
  • Several years relevant experience in supplier performance or management of complex supply chains.
  • Experience should include the following with expertise in a subset:
  • Applicable manufacturing and packaging processes including Biopharms, Solid Dose, Steriles, and/or Devices.
  • Experience in product development, implementation, or execution of supply chains.
  • Experience implementing new product launches, integrating new business or business models, hanging sources of supply and / or divesting products.
  • Experience in CMO relationship and performance management within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Sourcing strategy and procurement skills including relationship management, supplier development, continuous improvement, negotiations and ability to implement and manage complex contractual arrangements.
  • Experience and understanding of GMP.
  • Must have fluent English written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
  • MS Degree and/or Additional qualification in Procurement, Finance, Logistics or Quality.
  • Demonstration of rapid and effective decision making
  • Highly developed problem solving and risk management skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and understands international business relationships.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to an aligned strategy.
  • Ability to advocate and influence at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated success in contract negotiations and robust understanding of contract structure.
  • Extensive experience in developing/executing standard processes across an organization
