Overview:



We are looking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support our pupils both in and out of the classroom.

You will work with our students to ensure they flourish educationally, socially and developmentally. You will need to build strong positive relationships with young people who may have experienced a range of social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Your approach will be aligned to our school culture based on trauma-informed practice, nurture and restorative practice.

Our class sizes are approximately 6 pupils. You will also supervise our pupils outside the classroom, e.g. before school and during break and lunch.

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following criteria:



Experience of working With children with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) / or SEN needs. Experience of Managing challenging behaviour using varied strategies and Trauma Informed Approach. Demonstrate patience and understanding, be non-judgemental and have a good sense of humour. Be able to identify existing and potential barriers to students' learning and help them to overcome them. Be able to support the teachers and other professionals involved in the care of our students Providing classroom support to children with ASD, Speech and Communication Difficulties, ADHD and Severe Social Anxieties. Demonstrate a nurturing and supportive nature with good behaviour management skills be able to deliver interventions. (training will be provided) A willingness to learn and develop any existing skills and understandings of this sector.
The following are preferable but not necessarily essential:

A relevant Teaching Assistant Level 2 or above or equivalent Experience of working in a SEMH / SEN environment An understanding of the challenges of SEMH teaching. Resilient Flexible

Castles Education is an exempt employer as defined in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975) and as such, we have a lawful basis for requesting an enhanced DBS disclosure certificate for all employees and the post is subject to a six month probationary period.
