What You'll Be Doing
Supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, often linked to trauma, attachment or emotional dysregulation
Working one-to-one or in small groups to build relationships, model emotional regulation and promote engagement in learning
Supporting personalised strategies and EHCP targets in collaboration with the teaching and pastoral team
Providing consistent, calm and compassionate presence throughout the school day
Helping pupils rebuild trust, develop self-worth and thrive in school life
Is This You?
This role would suit:
Qualified Teaching Assistants with backgrounds in care, counselling, mental health or youth work
Individuals experienced in supporting children or young people with additional needs
Practitioners with a calm, empathetic approach who understand the impact of trauma on behaviour and learning
Communicators who value teamwork, emotional safety and inclusive education
A relevant TA qualification is required for this mainstream role
The School

Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm. Open to both full-time and part-time applicants.

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
