Specialist College (PRU) KS4 site Full-time role Immediate start Ongoing contract


A specialist college in Wembley are looking for an experienced Behaviour Teaching Assistant with experience who can join the school to support their KS4 pupils on a long-term basis.

The Role




In this role you will be supporting 14 to 16 year old students who have been excluded from mainstream schools. Many of the students have special educational needs and will display challenging behaviour. Alongside assistance in lessons and therapy sessions, students require support to manage their own emotions and de-escalate situations. You will work closely with a range of teachers, professionals and therapists.


Due to the nature of this role, the school are only looking for a Behaviour Teaching Assistant with previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or complex emotional and behavioural needs. PRU or similar experience would be preferable. Restraint training or de-escalation training is desirable, however, not essential

This specialist college is spread over 3 sites in West London and

provides education for students who have either been permanently excluded from mainstream school or are on a placement. Students are taught in groups of 6 - 7 pupils and follow a specialist curriculum tailored to their needs. Many pupils have special educational needs and there is a higher than average percentage students eligible for Pupil Premium. Daily activities are focused on building confidence, skills for life, social responsibility alongside academic learning. Alongside specialist teachers the college has a therapeutic provision to support mental health and well-being. There is a dedicated management team who have created a supportive and pro-active culture to support staff and students. There is regular training provided and opportunities for progression within the wider college.
