Job Description

Purpose:

To deliver social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) and special educational needs sessions and workshops alongside our animal handler for children and young people and complete any administrative duties required for the organisation. Support delivery of animal assisted therapy group activities and sessions alongside a trained therapist.

This is to include:

Planning, monitoring, and evaluation of sessions and activities

Maintain and enhance the quality of the provision

Duties:



To deliver community, wellbeing and special educational needs sessions to a wide range of local schools, clubs, organisations and the community whilst promoting HugglePets in the Community.

Perform administration duties to support programs, for example updating systems and spreadsheets with attendance information, distribution of information to schools and other organisations.

Ensure all sessions are delivered in accordance with National Governing Body guidelines.

Ensure all provision is delivered in a safe environment and all safeguarding regulations are followed.

Ensure all equipment is prepared and suitable for each session, this includes first aid kits.

Promote a positive and professional image at all times

Liaise with parents/carers, schools and teachers, and other outside agencies.

Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Community Projects Manager.

Qualifications



Essential:

GCSE Maths Application GCSE English Application L3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning
Desirable:

Degree/A Levels or equivalent Makaton Emotion Coaching Mental Health First Aider - Young People

Knowledge



Essential:

Knowledge of a range of disabilities Understanding of child protection and health and safety Understanding of Safeguarding
Desirable:

Understanding of ACE

Skills



Essential:

Able to communicate effectively with a range of people Able to work in both a team and independently Able to adapt sessions to participants Able to encourage, motivate, and enthuse young people to participate in animal activities and sessions. Excellent planning and organisational skills Basic IT skills to include Microsoft Office

Experience



Essential:

A minimum of 2 years' experience of working with children with SEND needs and/or behavioural difficulties. Experience of evaluating the effectiveness of sessions and programs Commitment to development and willingness to undertake training where necessary Experience of working with vulnerable 'hard to reach' children and young people.
Desirable:

Experience of working within the voluntary/charitable sector Experience of using basic design software for marketing materials.

To be eligible for this role with HugglePets in the Community, you must

:

Hold the Right to Work in the UK. Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application. Provide two professional child related references. Hold a valid driving license and have access to own transport
You will have a standard working week of a minimum of 40 hours, with a 30 minute lunch break.

You will be required to work flexibly and outside of normal office hours as and when necessary e.g events/weekends

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 27,000.00-30,000.00 per year
