We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Semi-Senior Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our growing accountancy firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT-qualified professional looking to work in a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Processing bookkeeping transactions and maintaining accurate financial records
Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
Reconciling bank statements and control accounts
Assisting with management accounts and financial reporting
Supporting senior team members with year-end accounts
Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries
Contributing to process improvements and best practice initiatives
Essential Requirements
AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent)
2 years proven experience in an accountancy practice or bookkeeping role
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
Proficiency in accounting software e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS (desirable)
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to build client relationships
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Desirable Skills
Experience with cloud-based accounting platforms
Knowledge of Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
