Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN 1:1 to provide tailored support to a child with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the child to foster their learning and development in a nurturing environment. This role requires a strong understanding of down syndrome and experience in special education, as well as excellent communication skills to effectively engage with the child and collaborate with educators.

Responsibilities

Provide one-on-one support to a child with down syndrome, ensuring their individual needs are met throughout their nursery hours. Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and strategies to promote academic and social development. Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages the child's participation and engagement in the nursery activities.. Support the child during various activities, including playtime, group work, and transitions between tasks. Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding the child's progress and any concerns that may arise. Promote independence by encouraging the child to develop self-help skills appropriate for their age.

Qualifications

Experience working with children with SEN. Background in special education or related fields is highly desirable. Strong teaching skills, with an ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning styles. Familiarity with toddler care practices is an advantage. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with children and collaborate with staff members. A patient, empathetic approach towards working with individuals who have special educational needs.
