Job Description

We are looking for someone to join our amazing team! We run early years sessions in the mornings for children age 2-4 years, and after school sessions for children aged 4-12 years. All the children attending SEN Space are diagnosed with SLD and complex needs.

Your role will be looking after children on a 1:1 basis or a small group of children with a range of additional needs between the ages of 2-12 years.

The hours for this position are Monday to Friday 9.30 to 5pm. The applicant will have to provide two working references, a clear medical declaration and Access NI, and Early Years vetting and clearance by the South Eastern Trust before starting. The start date is ASAP, but clearance and checks normally take 4-6 weeks.

Interviews will be carried out next week and staff notified within 24 hours of interview if they have been successful or not.

Applicants must have a level 3 childcare qualification or equivalent, or working towards a level 3 childcare qualification.

The initial contract is 12 months fixed term, but we are looking for people who want to stay and grow with our organisation long term.

- Assist in the care and supervision of children in the sessions
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for the children
- Engage in age-appropriate activities and play with the children, meeting all their educational, social and additional needs.

```Experience```
- Previous experience working with young children with SEN preferred
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and co-workers
- Patience, compassion, and a nurturing attitude towards children
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
