The Role





We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Class Support Assistant to join our team. This role is key to supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.





You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO, and other staff to provide tailored support that promotes pupils' independence, wellbeing, and learning progress.





Key Responsibilities




Provide targeted in-class support to SEN pupils, adapting activities to meet individual needs.

Support pupils' social, emotional, and communication development, promoting inclusion and self-esteem.

Assist with implementing individual learning plans, interventions, and behaviour strategies.

Work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure continuity of support.

Contribute to maintaining accurate records of pupil progress and support interventions.

Promote the school's values and a positive learning environment.




Person Specification




Experience working with children with SEN in an educational setting is highly desirable.

Understanding of a range of SEN needs and effective support strategies.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing.

Ability to motivate and encourage pupils to achieve their best.

Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
