Oasis Alternative Provision is an emerging, child-centred service that will provide a therapeutic and inclusive learning environment for children with additional needs. We are now inviting applications from experienced and passionate SEN Teachers who are committed to creative, flexible teaching in a nurturing, non-mainstream setting.
This role focuses on supporting early years and foundation stage pupils through personalised, sensory-aware teaching approaches that promote emotional regulation, social development, and academic progress.
This post forms part of a new provision with planned delivery from
September 2025
, subject to service readiness and regulatory compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver tailored lessons for pupils with SEN, following adapted and developmental curriculums
Implement the STEPS approach to support emotional and behavioural regulation
Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom culture
Communicate effectively with families, professionals, and colleagues to support joined-up care
Track pupil progress and maintain accurate records
Contribute to play-based, outdoor, and therapeutic learning opportunities
Supervise children during unstructured times as part of the wider team
On occasion, assist with basic care routines where needed, maintaining professionalism and respect
Suitable candidate must meet the following requirements:
Holds relevant qualifications (QTS required)
Has experience teaching children with SEN, particularly in early years or alternative settings
Understands differentiated planning and inclusive teaching strategies
Communicates clearly and builds strong working relationships with families and teams
Demonstrates flexibility, empathy, and creativity in their practice
(Desirable) Has experience supporting physical or outdoor education activities
Working Hours and Leave
Monday to Friday, 8:15am to 4:00pm, term time on-site.
This is a term-time only role with annualised pay spread across 12 months. While direct contact time is during school terms, staff are expected to complete some preparation and planning from home during school holidays, and may be required to attend on-site training or development sessions unless on approved annual leave.
Annual leave is limited to school holiday periods and cannot be taken during term time.
