Location:

The Goldhill Learning Foundation, Goldhill Adventure Playground.

Contract:

Fixed Term (until July 2026) leading to Permenate Contract.

Hours:

8am - 3.30pm (term-time only)

Salary:

Dependent on experience and qualifications, 25,000 - 30,000

About the Role



We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Classroom Leader / Teacher to lead a small class of six pupils aged 7-9 years, all with a diagnosis of ASD. You will plan, deliver, and evaluate a rich and engaging Early Years play-based curriculum, supported by a team of four skilled support staff.

This is a unique opportunity to lead learning in a setting where creativity, care, and curiosity drive every day.

Key Responsibilities



Design and implement a play-based, sensory-rich curriculum tailored to individual learning and developmental needs. Lead and mentor a team of support staff to ensure consistent, nurturing, and high-quality classroom practice. Promote communication, independence, and social interaction through structured routines and exploratory play. Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and external professionals to support holistic progress and wellbeing. Maintain accurate records, contribute to EHCP reviews, and celebrate pupil achievements. Create a calm, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and capable.

Qualifications and Experience



Relevant qualification in education, childcare, SEND, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years' experience working with children within a specialist SEND setting. Strong understanding of Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) or Key Stage 1 curriculum delivered through a play-based or experiential approach. Experience of planning and assessing personalised learning for children with additional needs. Proven ability to lead, motivate and support a small team of staff. Knowledge of trauma-informed and Choice Theory approaches to behaviour and emotional regulation. Desirable: Additional training in TEACCH, PECS, Attention Autism, Sensory Integration.
