About the Role:



We are seeking a caring, patient, and dedicated

1:1 SEN Early Years Practitioner

to join our nurturing Early Years setting to provide tailored support for two children with autism, who do not attend the setting at the same time. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in two children's development by delivering consistent, individualised support within a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide 1:1 support for two children with autism, working closely with the setting SENCo, each child's keyperson and outside professionals Implement and adapt learning activities to meet each child's individual needs and targets Support communication, interaction, and sensory regulation using appropriate strategies (e.g., Intensive Interaction, visual aids, Makaton) Promote each child's emotional well-being, confidence, and independence Liaise effectively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals Maintain accurate records, create succinct observations and link these to targets and contribute to planning and review meetings

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:



Experience supporting children with autism and/or additional needs (ideally in an Early Years or primary setting) A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or SEND (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Early Years or Supporting Teaching and Learning) A calm, consistent, and nurturing approach Knowledge of early years development and strategies to support communication and sensory needs Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for inclusive education

Important Information:



This post is initially for

22.75 hrs

per week

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: 08:30-11:45

Tuesday and Thursday: 08:30-15:20 (with 20 minute unpaid lunchbreak)

This will increase to

32.5 hrs

per week, Monday - Friday 08:30 - 15:20 (with 20 minute unpaid lunchbreak), once additional funding is in place.

Term Time Only

This is a temporary contract until July 2026, with the possibility of extension to July 2027 with reduced hours

Closing Date: Friday 7th November 2025

Interviews: Wednesday 12th November 2025

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: 12.21 per hour

Work Location: In person
