Overview

GB Recruitment are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a local special educational needs (SEN) school in Stoke-on-Trent for a

(5 days a week availability ), Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant

to start as soon as possible. The position is initially until Christmas but could be extended for the right candidate.

This is a fantastic long-term opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with a range of cognition and learning difficulties, including PMLD, SLD, and complex needs. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to provide individual and small group support, helping pupils to engage in learning and develop their communication, independence, and life skills.

The ideal candidate will be patient, caring, and adaptable, with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people with additional needs. Previous experience in an SEN or care setting is beneficial, but not essential, as training and ongoing support will be provided. Requirements

Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff members. A background in teaching or childcare is highly desirable. Should hold a current Enhanced Level Disclosure Certificate or be willing to pay for one to be completed A genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential.
