Overview

We are an energetic and friendly family of 4, looking for a SEN Nanny/Housekeeper local to Milton Keynes who has experience with SEN (Special Educational Needs) children and can show long-term commitment in previous roles. We would like someone who brings compassion, empathy, structure, common-sense, and a calm presence to the home but also fun and lots of energy when needed.

Your main responsibility will be for two wonderful boys aged 7 and 4. Our 4 year old, has complex additional needs, non-verbal - currently learning to use a communication device and has 30 Makaton signs that are in daily use. He is an absolute joy and loves jumping, swimming and going to the farm. He will be starting school in September so this role will focus on wrap around care in term time, then full time hours in the school holidays. Our 7 year old is an adrenaline junkie with a very creative mind, he is straight in from school on his bike or climbing trees in the garden. He also has a passion for music and loves to be up in his room listening to old school rock tunes.

Light housekeeping duties will include but are not limited to cleaning/tidying of child related areas including bathroom, playroom and bedrooms, cooking healthy, nutritious meals, and the family laundry.

We have a 10 year old cocker spaniel so being comfortable around animals is essential and some care may be required at times (feeding and taking to vet and grooming appts).

Skills

Strong background in childcare or nannying, with experience in caring for children of various ages. SEN experience essential. Basic understanding of Makaton or BSL would be beneficial. Fluent spoken English required. Excellent organisational skills to manage daily routines effectively. A valid driving licence and use of own car is essential. DBS and Paediatric first aid trained.
Monday - Thursday 7.30am-9am then 1.30pm to 7.30pm (term time) 8am to 6.30pm (school holidays).
