We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Support workers to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong commitment to providing a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment. As a SEN Support Worker, you will be responsible for facilitating play activities that promote the development and well-being of children in your care, in a 1:1 or a group based setting
Duties
Supervise and engage with children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times, could be on a 1:1 or as a group
Implement age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, social skills, and physical development.
Manage behaviour by setting clear boundaries and expectations while promoting positive interactions among children.
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community.
Maintain an organised and clean play area, ensuring all equipment is safe and in good condition.
Observe children's progress and report any concerns regarding their development or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
Required to commit to most weekends and school holidays
Provide personal care as required
Desirable
NVQ Level 2/3 or Equivalent or above qualification in HSC/Childcare desirable.
Strong risk assessing skills
Safeguarding Qualifications
Strong leadership abilities to guide and inspire children in their play activities.
A drive for creating an inclusive environment that caters to the diverse needs of all children.
Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education with SEN is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff.
Experience working with children in a nursery or similar setting is advantageous.
Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
