Seashell Trust provides care and education for children and young people with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairments, communication disorders, and autism. Our Outstanding Royal School Manchester supports students aged 4-19, each following an individualised Seashell curriculum. You'll be part of a dynamic teaching team including specialists in art, horticulture, music, and cookery, supported by senior teachers and leadership.
We're recruiting a talented SEN Teacher to join our outstanding school team. You'll teach a small class of up to 6 students, supported by Teaching Assistants and a multi-disciplinary team including Therapists and specialist Teachers. You'll work in a state-of-the-art school with advanced resources and access to an exceptional training package to develop your specialist SEN skillset.
The Successful SEN Teacher will:
Deliver teaching to students with complex communication and educational needs
Develop engaging, individualised programmes that remove learning barriers
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to support student success
Foster aspirational learning through small, meaningful steps
Line manage Teaching Assistants within your class
Requirements for the SEN Teacher role:
Teaching Degree or PG Diploma (QTS required)
British Sign Language, Makaton, or Signalong experience desirable
Experience teaching SEN students with complex needs
Ability to create meaningful, engaging learning programmes
Strong understanding of multi-disciplinary approaches
Aspirational mindset focused on positive outcomes
SEN teaching experience strongly preferred
