We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and possess the skills necessary to foster a positive learning environment for children. This role requires effective communication skills, behaviour management techniques, and the ability to engage students through innovative teaching methods. Experience with special education and speech therapy is highly valued.
Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with diverse SEN needs, ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life.
Work closely with the therapists to implement strategies from Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Support pupils' social, emotional, and educational development through empathetic, consistent, and creative approaches.
Assist with differentiated classroom activities, therapies, and interventions to promote independence and progress.
Contribute to tracking and recording pupil progress using school systems.
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
Provide instruction in subjects such as Maths and Physical Education, ensuring that all students grasp the material effectively.
Utilise behaviour management strategies to maintain a conducive learning environment.
Offer tutoring and mentoring support to students requiring additional assistance.
Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and behaviour, including proofreading reports as necessary.
Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching practices and stay updated on educational trends.
Experience
Previous experience working with pupils with SEN is highly desirable.
Experience in a specialist setting, or supporting children with autism, speech and language needs, or social, emotional, and mental health needs would be an advantage.
Proven experience in teaching or childcare settings, particularly with children in early childhood or special education environments.
Familiarity with applied behaviour analysis techniques is advantageous.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other educators and support staff.
Strong background in speech therapy or related fields is a plus.
Experience in mentoring or tutoring roles will be considered favourably.
