The Governors of Middleton Parish C of E Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to work on a one-to-one basis. We have a strong ethos of caring for each other, staff and children alike.
You will be supporting learning and care needs with individual and small groups of children, both in and out of the classroom (including outdoor learning!). The successful candidates will be helping children to succeed and flourish at our inclusive setting by bringing enthusiasm, understanding and a strong working knowledge (or desire to learn) of special educational needs.
Working closely with the SENDCo, you will be supported and trained to carry out learning programs to enable the pupils to get the most out of each day at school. Careful consideration will be needed to follow Individual Education Plans and learning targets set by outside agencies, reporting back to the Class Teacher and SENDCo regularly.
You will also need strong initiative as we operate a 'planning in the moment' style of education and we encourage staff to use their experience to adapt learning to each child's needs. Alongside the SENDCo, Class Teacher and Class TA, we will see the children thrive under our joint care and support. If you feel this describes your commitment, experience and enthusiasm we would welcome you to apply to join our team!
We are a two-form entry Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary School in Rochdale with 422 pupils currently on roll. We seek to embody and promote our Christian values of 'Excellence, truth & grace' at every opportunity.
However, we never rest and are looking to continue to develop, improve and flourish. We are driven by high aspirations for all our children combined with a nurturing environment that puts a high premium on their wellbeing and safety. We are proud of our hard-working, dedicated staff and our harmonious school community. We are looking for a teacher who will love the school as much as we do and work hard to improve it
If you are that person, you will have:
A commitment to realising the potential in every child
Excellent communication skills and a determination to work closely with our children and the SEN/ 1-1 children you would be working with
A supportive caring nature
It is imperative that you share our vision and values and actively promote the Christian nature and ethos of the school, but it is not a requirement for the applicant to be a practising Christian. We are an inclusive school and welcome all.
In return, we will offer you:
A warm, friendly, supportive community
Lovely children
Dedicated staff
Supportive Governors and strong links with our Church
The school's number one priority is safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children. It is our expectation that everyone involved with the school will actively share this commitment.
