SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1

About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Year 1 at our school in Kensington and Chelsea, you will play a pivotal role in supporting a non-verbal child with ASD on a 1-2-1 basis. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a child\'s life and develop your career.
Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated one-to-one support for a non-verbal Year 1 student with ASD.
- Implement effective communication techniques tailored to the child\'s needs.
- Assist the child in their daily activities and learning tasks.
- Support the child\'s active participation in class and recreational activities.
- Be prepared to provide personal care when necessary.
- Proven experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant, preferably with non-verbal children with ASD.
- Strong understanding of communication strategies for non-verbal children.
- Empathy, patience, and a passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Ability to adapt and work closely with the teaching team and parents.
- Relevant qualifications in education and training are a plus.
