Busy Bee Recruitment are currently working with a national Care and Education company who specialise in providing residential living facilities alongside SEN schooling for young people with learning difficulties and complex health needs. We currently have multiple opportunities for fun, energetic and committed people to join their team as SEN Teaching Assistant\'s at their start of the art school based near to Royston.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will assist students aged 6 to 19 with their daily classroom activities, assisting with each aspect of learning and development, and ensuring they progress in all areas of the curriculum.

You will be responsible for a variety of duties based inside and outside the classroom, but your main responsibilities will be to help students achieve their own educational and personal goals through the following:

  • Support students with learning, development, and progress in all areas of the curriculum within a range of learning contexts including the classroom, the local environment and within the community.
  • Help young people with a range of needs, including PMLD, complex medical conditions and autism.
  • Support an environment that fosters equality, diversity, and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and be treated with respect.
  • Place an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people.
  • Develop a greater understanding of Special Education issues.
  • Provide high quality support in all aspects of the role.
  • The role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines.
Supporting some amazing young people, you might help them with an inside painting lesson, an outdoor horse-riding lesson, a workout at the outdoor gym, or any enjoyable activity that will allow them to exercise their independence. You will work Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the possibility of finishing early on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be someone who is enthusiastic about caring for others and assisting them in their growth and development. They should be committed to always provide exceptional levels of support.
