Specialist Secondary School

based in

Tower Hamlets

, supporting students with

SLD

(Severe Learning Difficulties) and

PMLD

(Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).

This is a

Full Time

,

Term Time

position running Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, offering long-term stability, excellent training, and genuine career progression opportunities within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Please note: due to the specific needs of the students, we can only consider applicants who have

professional experience

working with

SEN

needs--this may be within an educational setting, healthcare, or another care-based industry. Experience with hoists, moving and handling, or providing personal care is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities and Daily Duties:



Support students aged 11-19 with SLD and PMLD in a secondary specialist setting Assist with learning activities under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO Provide personal care support including feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance using hoists or other equipment Help implement individual education and therapy plans Create a safe, stimulating, and positive learning environment Promote independence and confidence in students through sensory and structured learning activities Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other staff to ensure consistent care and support Maintain accurate records of student progress and well-being Engage positively with parents, carers, and external professionals

Requirements:



Professional experience supporting individuals with SEN, SLD, or PMLD (in education, care, or medical settings) A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach Ability to provide personal care Knowledge or experience with hoisting and moving & handling (desirable) Availability for a Full Time, Term Time role in Tower Hamlets
