Teaching Assistant, Harbour School Dorset

26,403-28,142 full time equivalent; actual salary 21,068-22,456 for 34.5 hours per week (Friday afternoons off), and term time only working. Plus, generous sick pay and pension scheme.

Hours: 8.30am-4pm Monday - Thursday, 8.30am-1pm Friday

We're looking for calm, caring, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to join our team - people who want to make a genuine difference each day.

Your role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key part in helping students engage in learning, manage their emotions, and build confidence in themselves and the world around them.

No two days will ever be the same. Some will be full of small wins, others will test your patience - but every single one will matter. You'll be part of a close, supportive team that values connection, creativity, and kindness.

What we're looking for:

Excellent communication and teamwork skills A calm, patient approach and the ability to stay steady under pressure A natural connection with young people and a genuine desire to help them grow Reliability, flexibility, and great organisational skills Experience supporting children or young people (beneficial, not essential) The belief that progress - no matter how small - is worth celebrating
