26,403-28,142 full time equivalent; actual salary 21,068-22,456 for 34.5 hours per week (Friday afternoons off), and term time only working. Plus, generous sick pay and pension scheme.
At Harbour School Dorset, we've grown and evolved a lot over the past few years - a new school, a thriving team, and a full community of 150 students this September. Now, we're ready for the next part of our journey - and we'd love you to be part of it.
As part of the Southern Education Trust, we're proud to provide a setting where every child is understood, accepted, and supported to reach their potential. We work with young people with Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs - and we believe that with the right care and consistency, every student can thrive.
We're looking for calm, caring, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to join our team - people who want to make a genuine difference each day.
Your role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key part in helping students engage in learning, manage their emotions, and build confidence in themselves and the world around them.
No two days will ever be the same. Some will be full of small wins, others will test your patience - but every single one will matter. You'll be part of a close, supportive team that values connection, creativity, and kindness.
What we're looking for:
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A calm, patient approach and the ability to stay steady under pressure
A natural connection with young people and a genuine desire to help them grow
Reliability, flexibility, and great organisational skills
Experience supporting children or young people (beneficial, not essential)
The belief that progress - no matter how small - is worth celebrating
Why you'll love working with us:
The chance to make a meaningful impact every day
Friday afternoons off
- because rest and balance are important
Full induction, training, and professional development opportunities
A warm, inclusive team who'll support you through the good days and the tough ones
A workplace built on trust, collaboration, and compassion
At Harbour School Dorset, we don't expect perfection - just passion, patience, and a willingness to make a difference.
