About the Role

StandUP Ltd is seeking a patient, creative, and experienced

1:1 SEN Tutor

to deliver bespoke learning support for a

Year 2 pupil

with an

EHCP

, awaiting a school placement. The pupil presents with

Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

and

Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN)

.

Tuition will take place

in the family home

, with a focus on

communication development, early learning skills, sensory regulation, and readiness to transition into school

.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver a

play-based, highly structured EYFS/early KS1 curriculum

, tailored to individual needs and interests. Encourage

social interaction

,

turn-taking

, and

shared play

using structured activities. Implement

Intensive Interaction

and

Attention Autism

principles to promote engagement and focus. Support the pupil in developing

self-help

,

independence

, and

emotional regulation

skills. Use

visual timetables

,

choice boards

, and

simple language

to structure sessions and reduce anxiety. Build trust and positive relationships with the pupil and family. Work collaboratively with parents and professionals to support ongoing

EHCP outcomes

and transition planning.

Essential Requirements

Experience supporting children with

Autism

,

communication delay

, and

sensory needs

. Skilled in using visual supports and clear, simplified communication. Calm, patient, and flexible approach to learning and behaviour management. Ability to plan engaging, short, and practical learning activities that meet the pupil's individual goals. Enhanced DBS check (required).

. Experience supporting children with feeding or sensory sensitivities. Previous experience delivering 1:1 or small group tuition to children with EHCPs.
