Send Learning Support Mentor
Job Description
Justteachers is seeking an SEND Learning Support Mentor to join a vibrant SEND school in the Grantham area on a long-term basis. The flexible post is due to start as soon as possible, with shortlisting currently taking place. The school is a specialist institution for children aged 5-19 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, featuring state-of-the-art facilities including therapy rooms, a hydrotherapy pool, specialist classrooms, and a life-skills suite. The school's mission is to be 'a caring and respectful family, committed to maximising the learning and development of our students, supporting them to become happy and fully-included members of their community'.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Providing tailored support to pupils with special educational needs, both individually and in small groups, to help them overcome barriers to learning. Collaborating with class teachers and trans-disciplinary colleagues to deliver effective teaching, learning, and behaviour support across all areas of school life. Monitoring and tracking student progress, providing regular feedback as needed. Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs. Proven experience supporting children with various learning difficulties and disabilities. Strong knowledge of effective teaching and behaviour management strategies for SEND students. Two education or school-based references.
