The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer - SEND (Catering) to join our Foundation Learning team within Supported and Inclusive Learning. This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher who is passionate about working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them gain skills for life, learning and work.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Lecturer in SEND, specialising in Catering, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching to learners from pre-entry up to Level 1.
Support learners with a wide range of needs, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Act as a course tutor, guiding learners in both their academic and personal progress.
Develop creative resources and curricula that build employability, independence and life skills.
Liaise with families, carers and external agencies to ensure each learner is supported to succeed.
Promote positive behaviour and safeguard the welfare of all learners.
About you
We're looking for someone with the skills and passion to motivate and inspire learners with SEND. You will bring:
A teaching qualification at Level 5 (PGCE, Cert Ed, DET) - or willingness to work towards one.
A Catering qualification at Level 2 or above.
Successful experience of teaching learners with SEND, including those with complex needs.
Experience of supporting behaviour management and working with young people and families.
Strong planning, organisational and communication skills.
A positive, empathetic approach to teaching and learning.
It would be great if you also have:
A subject specialism in SEND.
Experience contributing to EHCPs and the annual review process.
An Internal Quality Assurance qualification (or willingness to achieve one).
