Send Practice Development Lead (pre 14)

Bristol, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

Full Time, Permanent

Following a recent restructure and an expanding SEND Team, we are looking to recruit one further SEND Practice Development Leads for the Pre-14 Team (up to Year 9).

As a SEND Practice Development Lead, you will jointly support the Team Manager to lead a team of 15 full-time equivalent SEND Officers. Your role will be to ensure that SEND officers are supported to fulfil their duties with an emphasis on meeting statutory timescales and delivering a high-quality service for children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans. This involves supporting SEND Officers to prioritise diverse and competing priorities, to ensure that statutory processes (such as Annual Reviews) are completed, whilst also maintaining effective collaboration with education settings and other partners.

In this interesting and demanding role, you will have responsibility for ensuring that best practice is embedded across the team. You will provide ongoing supervision for SEND Officers and oversee training and professional development. You will also provide advice, direction and support to team members on a daily basis.

As part of the role, you will regularly compile performance data for the team and use this to inform development planning both at individual officer level and across the team.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute in a leadership role to the development of the SEND Service in Bristol. Please see job description and person specification for full description of accountabilities.

Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
