For those with SEN and SEMH needs, attending education settings can feel overwhelming. As an Alternative Provision offering Post 16 education these young people are in need of your experience, expertise and understanding, which is why you should consider working with The Dare2Dream Foundation.

We're looking for driven, dedicated, and confident individuals to take on the role of a supporting Post 16 young people on their bespoke education and wellbeing journey.

As an SEND Practitioner and/or Tutor, you will be at the forefront of supporting young people with special educational needs.

You will be delivering engaging sessions, supporting them through vocational awards, and teaching them life skills that will shape their future.

Working on a 1:1 basis, in placements set up and supported by our dedicated team, you will plan, deliver or support bespoke programmes designed around your student's needs and interests.

The Person and the role



This is an outreach role supporting staff and young people across Oxfordshire

The role is delivering sessions to young people (max travel distance of 20 miles from your home address) in their homes, community venues, online and outreach.

The role is a permanent role where you will have a case load of young people that offers consistency to the young person and structure. The role is salaried and is not dependent on young persons engagement or attendance.

The Post 16 provision offers an alternative bespoke education and wellbeing package offering young people an alternative to a large college environment.

As a SEND Practitioner and/or Tutor you will be responsible for delivering sessions to post 16 learners who will have a range of learning levels. A bespoke approach to the young persons education is taken to offer a variety of core skills and other subjects including but not limited to, Functional Skills, Personal Development, Food Technology, Outdoor Learning, Sports, PHSE, life skills, employability and developing self confidence.

This role is central to ensuring quality of provision and securing outcomes.

This role will support the foundation's mission of enhancing the wellbeing and life opportunities of children and young people by providing a bespoke education whilst supporting personal development and social and emotional needs.

This role requires a certain degree of autonomy, therefore an organised approach that is child centred is needed.

This role will champion The Dare2Dream Foundation core values and will actively market the services the foundation provides to the children and young people it supports.

Key Responsibilities:



Plan and lead sessions that combine practical learning, vocational training, and essential life skills - this will be on a 1:1 basis and support will be in young persons homes, outreach or in Post 16 Hubs. Work with young people, building trust and helping them unlock their full potential. Tailor your approach to meet the unique needs of each student, encouraging their growth and self-confidence. Monitor progress, set goals, and provide consistent feedback to help students stay on track.

A confident individual with a strong sense of responsibility. Someone with a strong commitment to safeguarding. An understanding of additional needs such as Mental Health, ASD and ADHD. Strong communication skills - you'll need to connect with young people, families, and other professionals effectively.

Responsibilities:



Work closely with learners to increase their skill level

Teaching of lessons and qualifications according to individual learning plans

Plan and deliver teaching, learning and assessment with learners through various methods, supporting the development and production of teaching and learning materials and resources in both manual and electronic formats

Ensure learning programmes meet the required criteria

Create and maintain professional working relationships with employers, learners and other key stakeholders

Monitor learner attendance and review the learner's progress

Create reports for all programmes

Set targets with learners and work with them to achieve these

Engage support teams with learning programmes, ensuring they are involved in progress reviews

Actively participate in all quality improvement processes, including observations of teaching, learning and assessment

Ensure all learner records are kept up to date and meet internal quality standards

Ensure that all correspondence from the organisation is of the required standard and tone

Job related Experience, Qualifications and Skills



Essential



? Experience of working in social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties settings (SEBD)

? Demonstrate suitability to work with children and an understanding of working with children in need, including children in need of emotional and therapeutic support

? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to confidently build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders

? Qualification in a relevant field (minimum Level 3) -

? The ability to manage referrals and maintain an accurate and confidential system of records within GDPR guidelines

? Excellent report writing skills - ensuring progress and key outcomes are demonstrated clearly and concisely

? A full clean driving licence with the ability to travel across the county and further if required

? A strong desire to support and enhance the lives of vulnerable children and young people

? Experience in planning, delivering and assessing academic support at secondary/post 16 level

Desired



? Experience of supporting staff

? Over 2 years' experience working with children and young people who are considered vulnerable and have complex needs

? Level 4 + relevant qualification and above

? Teaching qualification

Hours of Work:



This is a term time position (full or part time) within the hours of 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday to Friday.



Salary 28,000 - 34,000 FTE
