Job Description

About the team

The Virtual School supports the education of Hertfordshire's Children Looked After, Previously Looked After, and those in Kinship Care, helping to close the attainment gap and raise aspirations.

About the role

Being a Provisions Coordinator, you'll be the named coordinator for children and young people who are educated outside of traditional educational establishments, ensuring that the provision in the EHC plan is appropriate to the type of setting, that we are brokering and securing appropriate packages of support, and that we are pulling together multi-agency teams to manage complex arrangements for children and young people where required.

This is a fast paced role, ideal if you are a creative problem solver who loves to get into the detail of a case in order to ensure we're meeting needs.

You will support families and schools to understand statutory processes for SEND and our local offer of support in Hertfordshire. This will include attending multi-agency meetings to discuss needs and provision; writing or amending EHC plans with a focus on commissioning and monitoring of appropriate provision.

This is a challenging but rewarding role, bringing together professionals and families to ensure that statutory obligations are met whilst keeping the child at the centre. It requires resilience, a drive for ambitious outcomes for children, and the ability to champion local solutions.

Excellent communication skills High level of literacy to support good case recording and quality EHC plans

Desirable

You'll also benefit from experience of brokering packages of support, working with schools to deliver SEND provision, or experience of coproduction with parents. Experience of commissioning providers, negotiating with professionals across various disciplines, implementing packages of alternative support, and working on multiple priorities at once would be beneficial for this role.
