We are recruiting on behalf of an exceptional specialist SEND school for a

qualified teacher

to cover a class for

6 weeks

at their

Lower Site (ages 2-11)

.

This is a

short-term teaching role

in a nurturing, high-quality provision for children with

physical disabilities

who are

cognitively able

. You'll be leading a small, well-supported classroom of

6-8 pupils

, all in wheelchairs, with at least

3 experienced LSAs

in class.

The Role

Teach a

person-centred, accessible curriculum

adapted to each child's needs Lead a classroom with

excellent LSA support

and integrated

therapy teams

(SLT, OT, Physio) Ensure independence, agency, and progress are at the core of daily learning Incorporate

multi-sensory, play-based and practical approaches

to learning Liaise with nursing staff and external agencies to support medical and care needs
You Will Need:

QTS / teaching qualification

(essential) Experience teaching children with

SEND

(ideally physical disabilities / PMLD / SLD) Training or awareness of:

Manual handling / hoist usage

Makaton / PECS / AAC

(desirable)

Safeguarding, behaviour management, or medical needs

Confidence working alongside multidisciplinary teams and support staff Strong

classroom leadership
