We are delighted to be working with a supportive and inclusive school in
Welwyn Garden City
, who are looking for a dedicated
SEND Teaching & Learning Assistant
to join their team. This
temp-to-perm role
is ideal for someone with experience in
behaviour mentoring, SEMH support, or SEND
, who is ready to make a lasting difference in the classroom.
Responsibilities:
Provide
1:1 and small group support
for pupils with SEND, including those with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
Establish
clear and consistent boundaries
, supporting pupils to regulate their emotions and engage positively in lessons.
Use
de-escalation strategies and behaviour management techniques
to reduce barriers to learning.
Work closely with teachers to deliver an
inclusive and engaging curriculum
, adapted to meet individual needs.
Monitor and record pupil progress, offering feedback that supports both academic achievement and personal growth.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience supporting children with
challenging behaviour, SEMH, or SEND
in a UK school.
Strong interpersonal skills - confident, calm, and resilient under pressure.
Full-time availability:
Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:00pm

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Based in or able to commute to
Welwyn Garden City
.
