Job Overview:
We are looking for a committed and compassionate
SEND Teaching Assistant
to join the dedicated team at a specialist setting in
Westminster
catering to pupils with a wide range of complex learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-resourced environment, providing life-changing support to pupils aged 3-19.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism, and associated communication needs
Assist in implementing EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
Support with physical care needs including toileting, feeding, and mobility where necessary
Use a range of communication strategies including Makaton and PECS
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND
Strong understanding of inclusive education and safeguarding
Patience, resilience, and a calm approach to challenging behaviour
Willingness to undertake training in relevant strategies and care routines
A positive, team-oriented attitude with high expectations for all learners
