SEND Teaching Assistant & Midday Meals Supervisor

Grade 3 (Point 3-4) - Pay listed as per WSCC NJC Pay Scales - Pro-Rata pay applies.

Up to 25 hours per week TA / up to 4 hours 10 minutes per week MDMS

Due to some SEND funding, an additional temporary position for a SEND Teaching Assistant has become available at Nyewood CE Infant School. This is for a highly adaptable person with excellent communication and proven support skills to become part of our warm and welcoming Christian school.

We are looking for a very special person with a positive approach to behaviour management and willingness to support as part of the team. The role is likely to be in our SEND class with children that have additional needs, working with these children on a 1:1 or small group basis. The post may involve working with other children in other mainstream classrooms across the school. The post will be under the guidance and support of our Key Stage Leaders and Inclusion Manager. You will be supporting all areas of the curriculum and will be part of a friendly and supportive team of teaching assistants. This post may also involve a daily midday meal supervisor shift and the opportunity to join our afterschool wraparound care provision. This is a position that is also open to a job share.

Ideally, candidates should have experience in a school environment, working with children in the Early Years and/or Key Stage 1. A qualification at NVQ level 2 or 3 or equivalent would be an advantage. You will need to enjoy working collaboratively and have good communication and organisational skills. We are looking for somebody who is passionate about the post, has a flexible approach to work and is committed to meeting the needs of the pupils in our school.

The post is to start as soon as possible and is initially until 22nd July 2026 with the possibility of an extension.
