Teaching Assistant
to support a
KS3 pupil with cerebral palsy
on a
1:1 basis

The role involves both
learning support
and
personal care
, including
nappy changing
and
mobility assistance
. The ideal candidate will be physically capable, respectful of the student's dignity, and committed to helping them access the full curriculum.
You'll be part of a supportive SEN team working closely with medical staff, therapists, and class teachers to promote the student's independence and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 in-class support for a student with physical disabilities
Assist with
personal care
, including
toileting and nappy changing
Support with
mobility and access
, including hoist use (training provided)
Help implement an inclusive curriculum plan adapted to physical needs
Encourage participation and independence in all school activities
Liaise with SENCO, therapists, and family to maintain care consistency
Ideal Candidate:
Confident supporting
students with physical and medical needs
Comfortable providing personal care in a school setting
Calm, respectful, and sensitive to the pupil's dignity and autonomy
Manual handling or hoist training (desirable but not essential)
Prior experience in SEN schools or care settings welcomed
Resilient and reliable with a team mindset
Requirements:
Child Workforce Enhanced DBS on Update Service
Right to Work
Available 5 days a week ASAP
GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
Experience supporting young people with SEND (preferred)
Prior care/personal support work advantageous
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: 85.00-98.00 per day
