Experienced SEND Tutor - Coventry Area

Are you an experienced SEND professional with a passion for making a meaningful difference in young people's lives? Chalkline Education is looking for committed and enthusiastic SEND Tutors to join our expanding team.

About the Role:

We are seeking skilled and compassionate SEND Tutors to provide

1:1 tuition

for learners aged

11-16

, helping them close educational gaps, improve confidence, and re-engage with learning. This is a

flexible, part-time

role ideal for those who value creativity, personalisation, and a pupil-centred approach.

Tutoring sessions usually take place

between 8:30am and 4:30pm

, and the location may vary depending on each assignment - this could include the pupil's home, school, or a mutually agreed public venue. Full details will be agreed in advance to ensure suitability for both tutor and pupil.

Key Responsibilities:

Session Planning & Delivery

Plan and deliver

individualised, engaging lessons

tailored to each pupil's needs and learning style. Use creative approaches to make learning fun and accessible. Adapt resources to meet a range of SEND requirements.

Assessment & Progress Monitoring

Conduct initial assessments to identify learning needs (using observation, learning platforms, or BKSB). Set

SMART targets

with each pupil, monitoring progress weekly. Record detailed session notes and complete documentation via Google Drive, submitted every Friday.

Collaboration & Communication

Build

positive, trusting relationships

with learners to foster motivation and self-esteem. Liaise effectively with

parents, carers, and professionals

to ensure cohesive support. Maintain clear, professional communication at all times.

Resources & Reporting

Access a wide range of internal teaching materials and platforms (e.g.,

Twinkl

,

BKSB

). Occasionally deliver online sessions using platforms such as

Microsoft Teams

or

Bramble

, with full support provided. Submit weekly reports and timesheets to help inform our clients of session progress.
