Experienced SEND Tutor - Halesowen and Surrounding Areas



Are you a qualified and passionate educator with experience in supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Would you like to make a genuine difference in young people's lives, with the flexibility to choose working hours that suit you?

Chalkline Education is growing, and we are currently seeking experienced SEND Tutors in and around Willenhall to provide high-quality, one-to-one tuition for learners aged 11-16.

About the Role



As a

SEND Tutor

, you'll play a crucial part in helping students overcome barriers to learning by delivering engaging, personalised sessions that nurture both skills and confidence.

You'll work with pupils who may be out of school, require extra support, or benefit from a bespoke approach to learning. Sessions are usually held between 8.30am and 4.30pm, either in the pupil's home, their school, or a suitable public venue agreed in advance.

Key Responsibilities



Planning and Delivery



Design and deliver creative, tailored one-to-one tuition based on individual needs, goals, and learning styles. Employ a flexible and adaptive teaching approach to ensure effective learning and engagement.

Assessment and Monitoring



Conduct informal assessments and observations to identify learning gaps and areas for development. Track pupil progress using our shared documentation system via Google Drive. Set and review SMART targets with the pupil on a weekly basis.

Communication and Collaboration



Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils to foster motivation and self-belief. Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents, carers, and professionals to ensure a joined-up approach. Keep accurate records and provide regular updates.

Resources and Reporting



Utilise a variety of teaching resources, including our internal materials and platforms such as Twinkl and BKSB. Deliver online sessions via MS Teams or Bramble when appropriate. Submit weekly session reports and timesheets to maintain transparency and keep clients informed.

What We're Looking For



Qualified Teachers, Tutors or Teaching Assistants Strong understanding of a range of SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and MLD Creative and adaptable approach to lesson planning and delivery Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) Access to a personal laptop and reliable internet connection
