About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated
Senior Accountant / Assistant to Partner
to join our growing practice in Pinner. You'll work closely with the Managing Partner to oversee day-to-day operations, manage the office team, and maintain strong client relationships. This is a hands-on role requiring both technical expertise and leadership ability.
You'll be involved in all areas of accounting and compliance, including financial statements, management accounts, VAT, PAYE, CIS, and statutory reporting. The ideal candidate will embrace technology, progressive systems, and have a passion for efficiency and quality client service.
Key Responsibilities
Compliance Management
Support the Partner in managing compliance across statutory and regulatory requirements
Oversee the smooth operation of practice workflows and staff performance
Client Relationship Management
Act as a key point of contact for clients, building strong, long-term relationships
Communicate effectively to ensure client satisfaction and retention
Accounts & Tax Duties
Prepare and review VAT returns, year-end accounts, and corporate/self-assessment tax returns
Manage accounts preparation, finalisation, and management accounts
Administer payroll and CIS
Review contracts to identify non-profitable or unsuitable clients
Ensure full compliance with tax legislation and money laundering regulations
Business Development & Practice Support
Assist the Partner in driving business growth and profitability
Support marketing, networking, and client communication initiatives
Identify and implement process improvements
Carry out other ad-hoc duties as required by management
About You
ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience
Proven experience within an accountancy practice
Excellent understanding of UK accounting and tax legislation
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Confident using modern accounting software and CRM systems
Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment
