Gorrie Whitson Ltd is a long-established firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors, based in Holborn, London. Founded in 1936, we support a diverse client base across a wide range of industries, including sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, trusts, owner-managed limited companies, and PLCs.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our experienced and friendly team. The ideal candidate will be qualified (MAAT, ACA, or ACCA) or qualified by experience, with a strong general practice background.
You will play a key role in managing a portfolio of clients, providing a broad range of services including accounting, personal and corporate tax, and auditing. The position involves regular client interaction, so excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Key Requirements:

  • Qualified (MAAT, ACA, ACCA) or qualified by substantial relevant experience
  • Preferred minimum 10 years' general practice experience in a small or medium-sized firm
  • Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, IRIS, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, tax, and audit procedures
  • Confident, presentable, personable, and fluent in spoken and written English
  • Comfortable handling a varied client base and working independently
  • Audit Experience would be useful but not essential
