A Fulham-based firm of Chartered Accountants is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The Small Business Team looks after companies and Limited Liability Partnerships, the majority of which are owner-managed. London is a hotbed for entrepreneurs and new ideas, and the department gets its share of the market, attracting interesting and new clients each year.
The role is full time and London based.
In the role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
Gain a full understanding of all issues facing SMEs in terms of VAT, Corporation Tax and financial reporting requirements.
Develop communication skills, both internally and with decision makers at clients.
Build knowledge of tax planning opportunities that exist for SMEs and their owners.
Be supported in ACA/ACCA studies
Become proficient in market leading accounting software packages
Hybrid working- be able to work from home on certain days of the week
The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:
For clients in the individual's portfolio:
Liaise with Manager and clients to ensure that all services are being provided to the highest standards.
Responsibility for day-to-day requests and queries.
Responsibility for maintaining clients' ledgers and day to day bookkeeping.
Responsibility for the preparation of accounts and corporation tax returns.
Liaise with Partners and Client Manager on salient matters.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable skills and experiences including the following:
Studying towards a professional accountancy qualification with ideally 2 to 3 years' experience in a finance/accounting role.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with business owners.
Strong ability to multi-task and exceptional organisational abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage priorities and re-negotiate if necessary.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team on urgent issues, and the ability to provide guidance and assistance in effecting solutions.
Experienced user of cloud-based accounting software; Xero, DEXT and TaxCalc.
