Purpose of the Role - Senior Accountant



The primary purpose of the Senior Accountant role is to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reporting. This position supports strategic decision-making by delivering reliable financial data, overseeing daily accounting operations, managing month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.

The Senior Accountant also provides guidance to other team members, supports audits, and contributes to budgeting and forecasting activities, playing a key role in the financial health and operational efficiency of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:



Financial and Management Reporting: Support the Financial Controller throughout month-end and year-end close by maintaining accurate, reconciled accounting records and by providing analysis and reports to support the corporate reporting processes. Audit coordination: Lead international subsidiary audits and manage relationships with auditors and local advisors. Coordinate audit requests within finance and the wider company Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including supporting tax filings, VAT returns, and statutory requirements. Identify non-compliances and propose recommendations to prevent reoccurrences. Documentation: Maintain technical accounting memos and policies and keep the team up to date with new statutory updates. Process improvement: Improve efficiency of current processes and implement any audit Manage bookkeeper Preparation of monthly P and L reports and to set budgets.

Requirements

:

Essential:



Qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong understanding of UK GAAP/FRS102 Previous experience producing or auditing statutory accounts Previous audit experience Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Clear and effective communicator, verbal and written A keen interest in technical accounting topics Demonstrated ability to manage internal and external stakeholders Ability to build great working relationships with all levels of the organisation Organised with good attention to detail Able to work independently and be proactive in solving problems Willing to take on new challenges Ability to look for efficiencies in all processes and drive change in a growing business Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends

Desirable:



Experience in the technology industry is advantageous Proficiency in Accounting software Xero & QuickBooks Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Pay: 16,000.00-18,000.00 per year
