Marlin operates a premium collection of Hotels, Aparthotels and Serviced Apartments across central London and Dublin.

We're on the lookout for an experienced and detail-driven Senior Accountant to support the day-to-day financial operations of our serviced apartment and hotel business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and wants to play a key part in maintaining strong financial controls across the property portfolio.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant will assist with monthly accounts preparation, budgeting, forecasting, audit support and ensuring compliance with company policies and UK/IE financial regulations. You'll work closely with the wider operational team to provide financial insight that supports effective decision-making across the business. Your key responsibility will be controlling and optimising the company's operational costs. This role ensures accurate cost reporting, supports budgeting processes, and provides financial insights that improve profitability across all properties.

Responsibilities



Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and weekly financial reporting. Responsible for processing and submitting payroll. Support the Financial Controller with income audit, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Prepare and review asset and liability reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and analysis of financial performance. Help maintain robust accounting controls and ensure compliance with tax regulations and company SOPs. Work closely with operational teams to explain financial metrics and support departmental performance. Assist with cost control initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance revenue and operational efficiency. Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions and documentation. Support internal and external audit processes. Take part in ad-hoc financial projects and other tasks required by management.

Qualifications



2-4 years' experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry is essential A self-motivated, organised professional with strong analytical capability. Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial models and large data sets. Experience with accounting systems and hospitality ERP/POS platforms. Knowledge of hotel or property management systems (e.g., OPERA) is an advantage. Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across departments. High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and compliance. A collaborative team player who is adaptable, proactive and eager to support the continued growth of the group. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions Creative thinking and problem-solving skills; a willingness to show initiative Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
