We are recruiting for a Senior Accountant to support the Head of Finance in the production of timely and accurate Consolidation, Entity and Branch Accounts. They will be the key contact and assist the Head of Finance in communicating with the Parent Company in China, whilst providing an understanding of the regulatory environment. They will need to ensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements and submissions locally and internationally. This newly created role in the team plays a key part in actively contributing to raising the quality and standard of financial information, financial behaviour and financial support throughout the business.


Key Responsibilities



Group Accounting and Reporting Lead the AP team and personally execute all complex/high-value payments, inter-company recharges and HQ fund movements, ensuring 100% accuracy and on-time settlement. Own AP cash-flow forecast, ageing review and SOX-compliant payment controls. Prepare and produce monthly group consolidated accounts under subsidiary and parent company applicable accounting standards framework. Maintain Group Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Prepare and post consolidation adjustments. Assist with the quarterly and annual internal and external audits, including liaison with regional and group external auditors.

Compliance & Corporate Governance




Assist with ensuring the Group is fully compliant with regulatory requirements worldwide. Monitor and assist in dealing with any transfer pricing issues as a result of intercompany trade. Maintain the Group chart of accounts and ensure uniformity and consistence throughout the group. Assist with documenting and maintaining uniform processes worldwide, taking into account local customs and control environments.

Intercompany accounting



Calculate intercompany recharges and raise intercompany invoices. Process intercompany invoices received from Parent Company, or other companies in the Group. Ensure that the Group policy on intercompany transactions is in line with the Parent Company. Maintain intercompany reconciliations. Investigate and resolve intercompany differences.

Other



Main point of contact with Parent Company in China and China Investment Banks and firms. Drive the continuing development and motivation of the whole Finance Team and contribute to the cultural development of the team. Seek out, develop and implement opportunities for continuous improvement and subscribe to the notion that in that regard the job is never done. Recommend new procedures and policies that will improve efficiency of the Company. Identify non-value added activities and find costs effective ways of reducing them to a minimum. Participate in the development of the new ERP system. Ad-hoc reporting and duties to support the CFO and Executive Team.

Skills and experience required



Have knowledge and experience of IFRS, China GAAP and Consolidation Accounting. Must be proficient in oral and written Mandarin. Must be proficient in the use of PC software applications as well as experience in the operation of integrated accounting ledgers, along with advanced excel skills. Hands on, with strong attention to detail and an appetite for excellence and continuous improvement. Diligent, enthusiastic, and driven, with an excellent work ethic, and a can do attitude. Good interpersonal skills and understanding of organisations, being able to clearly explain financial information and terminology to non-technical parties and to communicate effectively at all levels. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Ability to work under pressure, prioritise, and manage conflicting demands. Good personal time management and comfortable working to deadlines. Committed, flexible and able to multi task. Inspires others to achieve. Learns and shares knowledge.
