As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a

Senior Accountant

to join our Payments team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in the financial management and operational success of a thriving logistics business.

The Role

As a

Senior Accountant

, you will report directly to senior management and take ownership of the financial operations of the business, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

Completing annual accounts and balance sheets independently. Overseeing day-to-day finance operations and maintaining accurate financial records and transactions. Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and management accounts. Leading month-end and year-end closing processes. Supervising and mentoring junior staff, managing workload, and supporting their professional development. Liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies as required. Ensuring financial systems and controls are robust, scalable, and suitable for a growing organisation.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

5-6 years of proven experience in a senior accounting role (experience in logistics preferred). Fully qualified or finalist in ACA / ACCA / CIMA (or equivalent). Strong leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring a team. In-depth technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting expertise. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in financial software and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and external stakeholders.
