Senior Accountant RTR - North West England

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant for our Record to Report (RTR) team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing complex financial processes, journal entry processing, reconciliations, and closing activities. Additionally, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement in R2R. This position offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders, making a significant impact on the company\'s financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review scheduled balance sheet control reconciliations, take appropriate actions, monitor progress, and execute escalations when necessary. Conduct scheduled risk assessments in collaboration with the market.
  • Independently present balance sheet reviews to senior stakeholders, demonstrating proficiency in communicating financial information effectively.
  • Manage specific month-end and year-end activities in accordance with the Month End Close timetable, coordinating with local markets and third-party service providers.
  • Understand the overall closing schedule and assignment of tasks during the close, including their respective deadlines and dependencies.
  • Participate in daily monitoring calls during the month-end close, identifying and escalating potential risks in delays to Satellite support/Global Process Owners.
  • Coordinate above-market processes related to audit and execute complex activities required by individual market external authorities (eg, tax administration, industry representation).
  • Drive continuous improvement in R2R by optimizing processes across markets or companies within the market, consistently implementing best practices.
  • Assist country controllers in executing or independently execute defined areas of legal entity budgets, projections, and transfer pricing documentation.
  • Conduct complete ad hoc projects and handle unusual or complex assignments initiated by Global Process Owners or operations, supporting multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, with only general review from manager/project lead.

  • Prioritize daily/weekly/monthly work guided by an understanding of dependencies, complexity, and compliance requirements. Flexibility to adjust to broader team priorities.
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams internally as well as external parties, such as local authorities.
  • Independently drive cross-functional deliverables and issue resolution processes within the assigned scope.
  • Possess the ability to influence people at all levels locally, regionally, and globally.
  • Apply an understanding of the overall end-to-end process in task execution, decision-making, and planning.
  • Identify and drive areas for continuous improvement within the assigned scope by influencing and engaging business partners, supporting peers, and managers in delivering on a broader scope.
Required Skills & Desired Experience:
  • Degree in accounting or equivalent business experience.
  • AAT qualified/ACCA or CIMA part or fully qualified.
  • Maintains a high level of technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP or IFRS.
  • Extensive experience in accounting or finance, with demonstrable experience in record to report processes.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of another European language such as German, French, or Spanish would be desirable.
  • Excellent computer skills with competencies in MS Applications (Excel, Outlook) and major ERP platforms (preferably SAP).
  • Excellent working knowledge of record to report processes in a multinational company.
  • Previous experience in public accounting with a big four firm or internal audit with a large corporation is a plus.
  • Experience in audit and year-end close process will be highly valued.
