An excellent opportunity has arisen at Jane Austen College for a Senior Administration Assistant to provide administrative and clerical support services. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone looking to work in a fast-paced and progressive environment.

The main responsibility of this role will be:




To provide administrative and clerical support services to a high standard, supporting management, other office staff, teachers and students in an efficient, professional and effective manner


To provide flexibility to enable the Academy to cope with peak workloads and staff absence.


To provide cover for the PA


To provide support in the purchasing of supplies for the school


To undertake reception duties in conjunction with other administrative staff.


The ideal candidate will have:




Good numeracy / literacy skills / GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English


Experience of general clerical or administrative work


The ability to meet deadlines by effective planning and time management


Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in dealing with a wide range of visitors / stakeholders


An understanding of the support function in an Academy setting and the wider Inspiration Trust setting



Jane Austen College is a school with a unique and exciting history. Set up in 2014 as a flagship free school for the Inspiration Trust, with a specialism in English and Humanities. The college has grown from two-year groups through to a full 11-18 school of over 1000 students.
