Hampshire County Council Adults\' Health and Care Department is seeking to recruit a Senior Administrative Assistant to support its Mental Health and Substance Misuse Service.

Our Service provides key placement opportunities for many students looking to make their career in social care.

The Senior Administrative Assistant is a vital role for the Mental Health Service. It will provide the post holder with varied and rewarding tasks and the opportunity to have a positive impact, directly and indirectly, on both colleagues and vulnerable Hampshire residents.

Work activities and responsibilities will be varied and will include:

  • Information management / working with sensitive information.
  • Reception duties being the first point of contact for visitors/callers.
  • Managing incoming post and supporting outgoing post.
  • Managing the Mental Health Team\'s shared email inbox.
  • Records management.
  • Compiling information and preparing documents using Microsoft Office 365.
  • Organising and supporting meetings including agenda compilation and minute taking.
  • Supporting the MH Team Duty rota process.
  • Developing networks of internal and external contacts to fulfil the role.
  • Working collaboratively with all colleagues in the Business Support Service, including providing cover for absent colleagues.
The Mental Health Administration Team is looking for an experienced administrative professional who will bring a dynamic and proactive approach to supporting the local Mental Health Team Manager and Team Members, to help them manage a demanding workload and work pace. The ability to work independently, timely and flexibly, with a relentless positivity, will be essential to succeed in this role.

You will be required to visit regularly (e.g. once a month) other Hampshire County Council office bases such as Winchester, Totton, Havant or Basingstoke. Therefore, the willingness and ability to travel across Hampshire are both essential.

You will have the opportunity of working in a hybrid model by spending some days in the office and some days working from home. Whilst exact number of days can be discussed, it is expected that each Senior Administrative Assistant will spend a minimum of one day each week in the office for duties such as dealing with the team\'s post and scanning/printing.
