Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Administrator to join our friendly team at Cofton for 33 hours per week, although we would be able to offer up to 37 hours for the right person.

Overview of Cofton Medical Centre



We are a forward-thinking Practice based in West Heath (South Birmingham). Our practice team consists of 6 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, an Advanced Clinical Practioner, a Clinical Pharmacists, 4 Nurses ,3 HCAs and 14 administrative staff members. Together we provide a high standard of person centered care.

We are a teaching and training practice, aligned with the University of Birmingham and University Hospitals Birmingham. Our latest CQC inspection rated us as Good in all areas.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:



Become familiar with all functions of the clinical system and other software applications to ensure quality standards are maintained. Undertake specific assigned tasks, project support/development, change and implementation which may arise from time to time. Assist in the monitoring of QOF and enhanced services, providing advice, support and regular reports on the progress in achieving targets. Assist in working to maximise achievement in QOF and enhanced services with the relevant clinical sub-groups. Assist with the submission of enhanced services submissions and claims submissions, including the validation of automatic collections to ensure accurate payments. Assist in the production of information for administrative and/or clinical audit as requested by the clinical sub-groups. Develop templates and searches to assist with data collection and entry within the clinical system. Assist in general office, reception and secretarial duties as required due to absence. Act as a first point of contact for IT related issues, logging issues with the IT support desk where they cannot be resolved in-practice. Prepare meeting agendas and assist with minute taking and distribution. Assist in developing practice policies and procedures, reviewing and updating them as required. Assist in monitoring staff workload/performance. Monitor training requirements across all staff groups. Act as a first point of contact for reception supervisor when there are rota issues. Work with the Practice Manager to resolve complaints in line with the surgery and NHS complaints procedure. Providing inductions for new members of staff where necessary. Assist the Practice Manager in maintaining the premises, including arranging repairs and carrying out premises checks in line with legislation.

Pay: From 17.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 33 per week
